Kul’Tiras – Alliance (110-112)

Not long ago, Kul’Tiras was the first naval force of the humans. Its power was unquestionable; and its loyalty for the Alliance unbreakable. Ruled by the House Proudmoore, Kul’Tiras was a prosperous island thanks to trade, commerce and its remarkable military force. Unfortunately, the island has gone downhill after the death of the Great Admiral Daelin Proudmoore and the Cataclysm.

A frustrated, sad and torn Jaina, expelled from the Kirin Tor by Khadgar, decides to go back to the island that once was her home. Players will, along Lorna Crowley and a pack of Worgen by Varian and Genn’s order, escort Jaina during her way home.

Boralus, once a glorious kingdom of the Alliance, is now a ravaged place taken by the Naga lead by Lady Venna Stormwave. Upon arrival, players experience an epic scenario in which the Alliance party fend off the Naga and drive them away of Boralus. Jaina rushes to the Castle of Boralus, where she finds noblemen taking Lorelei Proudmoore as hostage, timely preventing the abduction. Mother and daughter meet once again, although not in the best circumstances. Lorelei offers her limited hospitality, but she shows unsure on why would the Alliance take interest again in Kul’Tiras after these many years.

The other noble houses soon pose a problem, especially those known as Gorewind and Blacksea. It is the Alliance duty to recompose Boralus and rekindle the citizens’ faith in the Proudmoore, more concretely the Dwarves of Dun Magni and the High Elves of Silverloft Grove. Together, the loyal to the Proudmoore will unravel the true intentions of the Gorewind, who are no other than a family closely related to the Bloodsail Pirates. They will also discover that the menace coming from Northeast are but doings of the Blacksea, who are an extension of the Cult of the Damned.

As such, the main enemies in the island are the Houses Gorewind and Blacksea. Lady Venna Stormwave was fended off in Boralus, but she will cause trouble again in the Southeast part of the island, known as Saltshine Cliffs. The Gorewind pillage the island and impose their will to the Southwestern Kul’Tiranians in an attempt to hijack Boralus. The Blacksea, however, slowly corrupt the Northeast, having their activity focused in the Dead Man’s Cry Peak, the Ruins of Drisburg and the Blacksea Manor.

Lorelei ultimately accepts the Alliance party as allies, but all the years of chaos and uncertainty she has suffered have crippled her and turned her very sickly. Jaina quickly brings her mother to Stormwind, where she can be taken care of better. There, Jaina’s mother warns the Alliance party of the menace of the Gorewind and Blacksea on the seas of Azeroth, and suspects the latter might be interested in an old Kul’Tiranian legend named ‘Rime of the Ancient Mariner‘, which talked about a crew of sailors who found themselves dead, and their ghostly ship pulled to a mysterious place named Drowned Reaches.

After clearing Kul’Tiras of bad influences, Boralus will now be a minor city. There will be no Auction House or bank services there. However, there will be a port hub for your ship. Boralus is a new reputation. There will be quests and daily tasks for this reputation involving the restoration of the whole island. As players advance and gain acknowledgement among the Kul’Tiranians, they will be able to see personally how the island recovers its splendor.

Kul’Tiranian sailors will set sail again and begin docking in Stormwind as they once did, settling in Stormwind’s harbor and improving the shipyard with cutting edge Kul’Tiranian seafaring lore.
